Made in India iPhone to Launch
Indian-made iPhone 15 will be available to customers in India and “other regions” on day one. These Indian-manufactured units will also be available alongside those produced in China, with Foxconn’s Sriperumbudur facility geared up for production. The Foxconn factory produces both iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models.
Apple used to release Made-in-India iPhones later than the initial launch date. While most iPhone 15 units are still manufactured in China, this development underscores Apple’s successful efforts to expand production in India, reducing its reliance on Chinese manufacturing. Apple initiated iPhone assembly in India in 2017 and currently produces 7 percent of its iPhones there, with plans to increase this share to 25 percent by 2025.
In India, the starting prices for the iPhone 15 and the 15 Plus, both equipped with 128 GB of storage, are INR 79,990 and INR 89,990, respectively. Both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are available in Pink, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Black color choices.
