The iQOO 12 series, featuring iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro, has been successfully launched in China, and sales are already underway. Exciting news for global users – the international release is just around the corner, scheduled for December 12 in India. What’s even more interesting is that the global version will come with Funtouch OS based on Android 14, with some notable differences from the Chinese version.
If you’ve ever used Funtouch OS, you’re probably familiar with iQOO’s habit of pre-installing “Hot Apps” and “Hot Games” on their devices. However, many users found them annoying because they included some unwanted apps and games. The company has addressed user feedback by announcing the removal of these bloatware, which were criticized by both tech creators and users.
iQOO India’s CEO shared this news on Twitter. Check out the tweet below!
The company assures improvements in the operating system and security updates. Here’s the good news – iQOO 12 series will enjoy three years of major OS updates and four years of security patches. While it may not match the extended support of Samsung, OnePlus, and Google, which goes beyond four years, it’s definitely a positive step forward. Fingers crossed for timely OS updates from the company!
Talking about the specifications, the iQOO 12 series is set to pack the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, making it the first device to feature this powerful processor in India. The phones will boast an updated camera setup, including a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera providing impressive 3x and 10x zoom capabilities.
