HMD Global has recently announced the Nokia G22, a 4G smartphone that puts a key focus on repairability. Unveiled at MWC 2023, the Nokia G22 has been designed with “repairability at its core”, according to HMD Global. To achieve this mission, Nokia partnered with the global repair community iFixit to provide the tools, guidance, and parts necessary for users to replace the display, charging port, or battery. Nokia G22 Launch

HMD Global has also committed to providing replacement parts for the Nokia G22 at a reasonable price. The battery replacement process takes only about five minutes and requires only the SIM ejector tool, a guitar pick, and a screwdriver. Changing the display takes a bit longer, around 20 minutes, and requires a few extra tools. Moreover, the Nokia G22 features a back cover that uses 100% recycled plastic, while its packaging uses fully certified FSC Mix material.

The phone ships with Android 12, and HMD Global has promised two years of major OS updates, three years of security updates, and a three-year warranty.

Other notable features of the Nokia G22 include a Unisoc T606 processor, a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD screen, a 50MP+2MP+2MP triple rear camera system, an IP52 rating, a 5,050mAh battery with 20W wired charging speeds, a side fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone comes in Meteor Grey and Lagoon Blue colors, with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and 128GB storage options. The Nokia G22 will be available in UK starting March 8, 2023, with starting price at £150.
