OnePlus Confirms Foldable Phone Coming Late 2023
Chinese smartphone manufacturer, OnePlus, has officially confirmed that it is developing a foldable phone, joining other smartphone giants in the new market space. The announcement was made during a panel discussion at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023, where the brand revealed that the handset is expected to be launched in the second half of 2023.

Although the company has teased its plans for a foldable phone since August last year, this was the first time OnePlus officially announced its entry into the market. With the release date scheduled for the latter part of the year, it is expected that the marketing campaign for the device will be similar to the previous ones, where information is released slowly over time.

President and COO of OnePlus said that the brand’s foldable phone would feature the signature fast and smooth experience associated with OnePlus products. He added that the phone would be a flagship device and would not compromise on any aspect of industrial design or mechanical technology, ensuring it provides the pinnacle experience in today’s foldable phone market.
There is no word yet on what form the OnePlus foldable phone will take, with some rumors suggesting that it will have a book-like foldable design. A previous leak by Digital Chat Station hinted that the phone would be launched in Q3 2023, indicating a possible release by the end of September.
OnePlus’s parent company, Oppo, has been exploring foldable phone technology for the past few years, and it is expected that the OnePlus foldable phone will bear some similarities with Oppo’s products. Oppo recently launched the Find N2 Flip, its first folding flip phone to be released outside of China, and it’s possible that some of its design elements may be incorporated into the OnePlus foldable phone.
