There are lots of foldable phones from various brands available in the market for users to compare. Oppo recently unveiled the Find N3, which is a strong rival to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. Now, OnePlus has also joined the foldable phone market with their first foldable phone called the OnePlus Open. The OnePlus Open is similar to the Oppo Find N3 and was first released in China on a Thursday. It’s now making it’s global debut with OnePlus. This phone is OnePlus’s most high-end smartphone and comes with a bunch of cool features.

The OnePlus Open when open boasts a spacious 7.82-inch 2K LTPO 3.0 AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2268 x 2440 pixels and a refresh rate that can range from 1Hz to 120Hz. When closed (folded), it switches to a 6.31-inch Super Fluid LTPO 3.0 AMOLED display with a resolution of 2484×1116 pixels. This screen supports a dynamic refresh rate of 10Hz to 120Hz and has an aspect ratio close to the standard 20:9. The display also offers an impressive peak brightness of 2800 nits.

The OnePlus Open runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, featuring a robust combination of 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 internal storage, which can compare with most premium smartphones in the market right now. It’s equipped with a 4,805mAh battery and suppors rapid 67W charging. The phone comes with an 80W SUPERVOOC fast charger included in the package. It comes out of the box with Android 13 and OxygenOS 13.2 skin. Importantly, this device is set to receive four years of Android updates and five years of security updates.

Regarding the camera setup, the OnePlus Open boasts a total of five cameras, all finely tuned by Hasselblad. The primary module is equipped with a 48-megapixel Sony LYT-T808 main sensor, alongside a 64-megapixel telephoto lens offering 3x zoom, and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. On the front, there’s a dual-camera arrangement, featuring a 20-megapixel primary sensor and a 32-megapixel secondary sensor.

Upon unfolding the OnePlus Open, you’ll encounter OnePlus Canvas, a fresh software feature specially designed for the OnePlus Open. This feature simplifies multitasking with multiple apps, enabling the phone to display up to three apps simultaneously on the internal screen. OnePlus reports that 95% of popular apps are compatible with the expanded display, and you can customize the size of the active window in a multi-window setup to suit your preferences.

The OnePlus Open is offered in a single memory configuration of 16GB RAM and 512GB internal storage, priced at €1,799 or £1,599. Pre-orders are now open, and the official sales begin on October 27. Those who pre-order will receive a complimentary pair of OnePlus Buds 2 Pro, and students can avail of a 10% discount.

In India, the OnePlus Open is priced at INR 1,39,999 and is currently available for pre-order. It will be in stores starting October 27. As for special offers, customers can enjoy an Rs 8,000 trade-in bonus discount on select devices. Additionally, an extra Rs 5,000 discount is available on specific bank cards, effectively reducing the OnePlus Open’s price to Rs 1,34,999.
