The Samsung Galaxy S24 series, which includes the regular Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, is expected to be officially announced early next year. Samsung has not shared any information about the successors to the Galaxy S23 series, but there have been many leaks. The latest leak suggests that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will no longer have a 10x zoom lens and will instead have a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.
This change might mean that the zoom capabilities are not as good as the Galaxy S23 Ultra. So, if you want a phone with amazing zoom abilities, your best choice is still the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Samsung has been offering 10x optical and 100x digital zoom on its top phones since the Galaxy S21 Ultra in 2021. It seems like the Galaxy S24 Ultra might lose its title as the best phone for zoom with these changes.

According to the leaker Ice Universe, the S24 Ultra is expected to feature a 10MP 3x telephoto sensor along with a fresh 50MP sensor boasting 0.7µm pixels, providing 5x optical zoom. The leaker also mentioned in a post on X(Twitter) that the hardware specifications are not as robust as those of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, which boasts a 50MP 1/2.52″ 0.7μm sensor for both 3x and 5x zoom.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is rumored to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor in many regions. Additionally, there are reports suggesting that the S24 Ultra might feature a brand-new 200MP ISOCELL HP2SX camera sensor and may also incorporate titanium frames for added durability. We will provide further details on the camera and other hardware specs as they become available.
