Samsung, a pioneer in foldable smartphones, is set to introduce a more budget-friendly foldable phone next year, as per a TrendForce report. While the specific model, whether it’s similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 or Z Flip 5, remains uncertain.
The move suggests a trend towards more affordable foldable options. This could pave the way for other companies to explore similar offerings.

In the quest for affordability Samsung is considering a mid-range foldable, possibly a Galaxy Z Flip6 with some spec compromises. There’s speculation that Samsung might opt for a plastic body instead of glass, hinting at a potential Galaxy Z Flip6 FE. Reports also suggest Huawei is eyeing a more competitively priced foldable device.
According to Revegnus on Twitter, Samsung is aiming for a price range of $400 to $500 for its midrange foldable. Even with taxes, the starting price could be below $800. In comparison, Motorola launched the Razr (2023) in the US at $699 last month, while the Tecno Phantom V Flip starts at almost half the price of Samsung’s offering.
