This revolutionary new technology uses a sub-micron prism that scatters light as it hits it. By shifting the arrangement of the prism, users can change the color they see when the light scattering happens, allowing them to pick from a total of 1,600 different colors for the back of their phone. The material can change up to two million times allowing users to change the color 100 times a day. The color changes can be controlled manually through the device software, giving users complete control over the look of their device.
What’s more, the Tecno Chameleon Coloring Technology has negligible power consumption, with a hundred changes over the course of a day requiring as much power as watching a 5-minute video. This means that users can change the color of their smartphone as often as they like without having to worry about battery life.
Last year, Tecno launched the Techno Camon 19 Pro Mondrian Edition, which offered a color-changing back using a different type of technology that required UV light and was not controllable by the user. With the Tecno Chameleon Coloring Technology, users have complete control over the color of their device, allowing them to express their individuality and style in a way that was previously impossible.
Unfortunately, the Tecno Chameleon Coloring Technology is not yet available in a smartphone or even a prototype. However, it is expected to land in a future Tecno smartphone.
