On March 8th, the global availability of Xiaomi 13 Lite will start at about €499, which is the latest addition to the Xiaomi 13 series, in several new markets. As a mid-range device, the Xiaomi 13 Lite is available at a price that is half that of the Xiaomi 13, and boasts improvements in performance and camera capabilities from its predecessor, the Xiaomi 12 Lite.

The Xiaomi 13 Lite is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, which provides 20% more GPU and 30% more AI performance than the Snapdragon 778G found in the 12 Lite. Despite this, the phone’s RAM and storage specifications remain the same, with LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2 being used. There are two available configurations: 8/128GB and 8/256GB. The phone runs on MIUI 14, which is based on Android 12.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Xiaomi 13 Lite features a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor, which is known to be used in a number of high-end smartphones. With a 1/1.56” sensor size and 1.0µm pixels (2.0µm with binning enabled), as well as an f/1.8 aperture, the camera can capture 123% more light than the 108MP sensor with f/1.9 lens found in the previous generation 12 Lite.

The phone’s 8MP ultrawide camera (1/4” IMX355) with 119° field of view and 2MP macro camera remains unchanged from last year. However, the selfie camera has been improved, featuring a 32MP sensor and an 8MP depth sensor, which allows for more natural-looking bokeh effects. These cameras are located in an island-style camera hole in the display, and the selfie camera has a FoV of 100°.

The Xiaomi 13 Lite features a curved 6.55” AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400px (20:9) and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+ and can render 68 billion colors. The display is protected by curved Gorilla Glass 5, and the phone has an IP53 rating for resistance against dust and splashes of water.

The phone has a battery capacity of 4,500mAh, which is a slight improvement over the previous model, and features 67W wired charging, allowing the battery to reach 100% in just 40 minutes. The phone does not support wireless charging.

Other features of the Xiaomi 13 Lite include Dolby Atmos for audio, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC support, and 5G support thanks to the Snapdragon X62 modem. The phone weighs 171g and measures 7.23mm thick. The Xiaomi 13 Lite comes in three color options: Lite Blue, Lite Pink, and Black, with a base price of €499 for the 8/128GB version.
